Satin Print Shirts for Women: The Edit
Seven new shirts from this month's shoot, all cut the same way in Bamberg modal satin: shirt collar, button front, full sleeves, a long relaxed line. What changes is the print, and the print decides where each one goes.
Chain and leopard, for evenings
Gold chains and patches of leopard on navy-black satin, with contrast cuffs. The satin picks up evening light, which is why this is the one for dinners and nights out. Beige trousers soften it; black trousers make it sharper.
The same print on maroon turns warmer and more autumnal, a good festive-season shirt that does not need embroidery to feel dressed up. Gold earrings, beige trousers.
Floral mosaic: big leaves, two moods
Large overlapping leaves and petals, printed big enough to read from across a room. In teal green it is fresh and summery, good for workdays and holiday lunches with white trousers.
In brick red and blush it becomes an autumn shirt: warmer, earthier, easy with beige or camel.
Garden bloom, for daytime
Pink flowers and green leaves on bright yellow: the sunniest of the seven, made for holidays, brunches and long lunches outdoors. Beige or white trousers let the yellow lead.
Brushstroke, the painterly pair
An abstract brushstroke print in greens and gold. The sheen dresses it up for dinners; with denim at the weekend it relaxes completely.
The red version is the boldest shirt here, a statement piece for parties and festive evenings. Black or beige trousers, and keep the jewellery small.
All seven are made to order in XS to 8XL. Wear them loose over straight trousers, half-tucked into a skirt, or open over a camisole on holiday. For more ways to wear satin through the day, see our satin styling guide.
