Paisley Tunics for Women: The Edit
A paisley tunic is the easiest top to pack for a holiday: one piece, worn over plain trousers, and the outfit is done. The eight here share a single cut designed by Ramola Bachchan, a loose georgette tunic with kaftan sleeves and a beaded V-neck, and differ only in colour. They are grouped by how they read: bright prints for holidays, blues and greens for a cooler look, and two deeper shades for evenings and festive days.
Bright prints, for holidays and long lunches
These three carry the busiest, most colourful prints in the set. They suit a beach lunch, a day of sightseeing or a holiday dinner, and they need little else: white or neutral trousers, flat sandals and one pair of earrings.
The blue and purple tunic is the newest of the paisleys. Its print mixes turquoise, purple, yellow and red on a pale ground, and a beaded orange and red border runs around the V-neck. Worn with white trousers, as here, it is an easy holiday outfit on its own.
The rose pink and yellow tunic is the warmest colourway, with green and purple running through the pink. The beaded neckline is detailed enough that you can skip a necklace. Wear it over white or nude wide-leg trousers for a garden lunch or a daytime function.
The orange paisley tunic sits on a deeper, olive-toned ground with mustard, orange and turquoise in the print. Because the print is so strong, it looks best over plain black or white bottoms rather than another pattern.
Blues and greens, for a cooler palette
Three tunics in blue, teal and green. They read a little calmer than the bright prints, and they work well in the daytime and in hot weather.
The cobalt blue and yellow tunic has a yellow paisley and a beaded yellow neckline on a cobalt ground. It reads more festive than everyday, so wear it to a daytime function over plain black or silk trousers, with statement earrings.
The sea green and pink tunic is teal with a pink paisley and a pink beaded neckline. Pair it with tan or nude flats and let the beadwork stand in for jewellery.
The blue and green tunic mixes teal, cobalt and green, with a yellow-green beaded neckline. It is shown here with white trousers. A thin belt at the waist gives it shape if you want it.
Deeper colours, for evenings and festive days
The last two are the most formal of the paisleys. Pair them with tailored trousers rather than denim.
The red and green tunic is the most festive, with red paisley edged in green and a gold and green beaded neckline. It suits Diwali gatherings and family lunches. With one statement bangle or hoops, it needs no necklace.
The mauve and black tunic is the quietest colourway, with a black and white paisley on mauve and a fine beaded V-neck. Add a slim belt if you want shape, or leave it loose.
The cut they share
All eight tunics share one cut, designed by Ramola Bachchan: double viscose georgette, a loose fit that skims rather than clings, wide kaftan sleeves that fall away from the arm, and a V-neck finished with beadwork embroidery. They slip on with no fastenings and should be dry cleaned. Each is made to order in sizes XS to 8XL, or to your own measurements, and shipped worldwide.
