Lakmé Fashion Week March 2027: Dates, How to Take Part, and the October 2026 Edition

Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI runs twice a year, and the next edition is the spring/summer showing, which has been held in March for the past several years. As of 26 October 2026 the organisers have not announced its dates or city: we could not find them on the organiser's own site (lakmefashionweek.co.in) or on FDCI's events listing, which ends with the October 2026 edition. This page will carry them as soon as they are published. Below: whether you can attend, what is genuinely open, and a record of the October 2026 edition that has just ended.

The October 2026 edition, for the record

The autumn–winter and festive edition ran from 13 to 18 October 2026 in New Delhi, at Taj Palace, with the opening-night Circular Design Challenge at the Embassy of France on the 13th. It closed with the Lakmē Grand Finale × AM:IT by Amit Aggarwal on the 18th. This was the show-by-show schedule as the organisers published it on their official Instagram.

The organisers marked several of these shows as part of their Conscious Collection. Most labels posted their collections on their own accounts straight after showing, which is still the best place to see them.

What the event actually is

Lakmé Fashion Week began in 2000 and now runs twice a year, in spring and again in autumn. Since 2020 it has been staged in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India, the industry body that also runs India Couture Week, and appears under the name Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI.

It is a trade event before it is a spectacle. The audience in the room is buyers, press, stylists and industry — the shows exist so that retailers can place orders and journalists can write about the season. That is the single most useful thing to understand about it, and it explains most of what follows.

The spring edition shows spring–summer collections; the October edition is the autumn–winter and festive showing. The two have alternated between Mumbai and Delhi: March 2026 was in Mumbai, October 2026 in New Delhi.

Can you attend?

Realistically, no — not as a member of the public buying a ticket. There was no public ticket sale for the October 2026 edition, and none has been announced for March. Access is by invitation and accreditation: buyers, press, and guests of the designers and sponsors.

This is not unusual and it is not a slight. It is how fashion weeks work more or less everywhere, because the room is a sales floor.

What is genuinely open

Participation is not one door. The organisers run several programmes for different audiences, and at the time of checking none was accepting entries for the March edition.

The Content Creators Program, in practice

This was the one route open for the October 2026 edition, and it closed on 30 September 2026. It was aimed at emerging fashion and beauty creators and ran through Instagram: repost the programme announcement, tag the official accounts, use the programme hashtag, and complete a registration form. Selected creators were expected in New Delhi for the week at their own cost. Watch the official accounts for the next edition's call.

How to follow it if you are not there

• The official accounts — the organisers post schedules, looks and backstage material across the run, and this is where the show-by-show coverage appears first.
• The designers themselves — most labels publish their own collection imagery immediately after showing, often in more detail than the coverage.
• Fashion press — Indian editions of the major titles cover it daily during the run.

No official livestream was announced for the October 2026 edition. If one is announced for March, it will be on the organisers' channels rather than anywhere else.

What to expect from the week

Expect a mix: established names showing full collections, a GenNext slate of debut designers that the organisers have run for years, sustainability and craft-focused showcases, and a grand finale. Autumn–winter editions lean festive and occasion-heavy, because the calendar sits just before the Indian wedding season; spring editions lean lighter, into resort and summer dressing.

If you are watching for what will actually reach shops, watch the buyers' reaction rather than the front row.

The organiser's own homepage still showed 2025 programme deadlines when we checked on 26 October 2026, and the October 2026 dates moved from 15–18 to 13–18 October after this page was first written. The October dates, venue and schedule on this page come from the organiser's official Instagram; the March pattern comes from FDCI's own events listing. Anything that could not be confirmed — the March dates and city, a livestream, public access — is described as unconfirmed rather than guessed.
