India Art Fair 2027: Dates, Tickets, Getting There and What to Expect

India Art Fair returns to the NSIC Exhibition Grounds in Okhla from 4 to 7 February 2027. It is the largest gathering of modern and contemporary South Asian art in the calendar, and — unlike most of the events on this blog — a substantial part of it is straightforwardly open to the public with a ticket. This page covers where it is, how to get there, how the days differ, and what is not yet announced.

When, and how the four days differ

The fair runs Thursday to Sunday, and the days are not interchangeable. The first two are preview days for VIPs, collectors and press; the last two are the public days.

The 2027 day-by-day schedule has not been published yet. For shape only, here is how the organisers ran the 2026 edition — treat it as a pattern, not as this year's timetable:

• Thursday — BMW VIP Preview, 3pm to 7pm
• Friday — Select VIP Preview, 11am to 7pm
• Saturday — Public hours, 10am to 7pm
• Sunday — Public hours, 10am to 6pm

Tickets

Preview passes and tickets are sold through the organiser's own site. At the time of checking, no price was published for the 2027 edition and the visit page still carried the 2026 schedule — the sale had not opened.

What is clear is the structure: preview access is a separate, earlier and more expensive proposition aimed at collectors, and the public days are the general-admission ones. If you are going to look rather than to buy, the public days are the ones you want.

Getting there

The venue is the NSIC Exhibition Grounds, Okhla, New Delhi 110020, in the south of the city.

• Metro — Govindpuri station, on the Violet line, is close to the fair entrance. This is the organisers' own recommendation and it is the sensible way in.
• Taxi — the venue is easily reached by taxi.
• Parking — paid car parks operate at the gates on a first-come, first-served basis. The organisers explicitly recommend public transport instead, which on a fair weekend in Okhla is advice worth taking.

What to expect

India Art Fair is a selling fair: galleries take booths and show work, and the floor is organised around them. Alongside the booths there is a programme of talks, commissioned installations and partner projects, which is where most of the non-buying audience spends its time.

The audience splits sharply by day. The previews are collectors, press and the art trade. The public days are considerably busier and considerably more mixed — students, families, people who came for one gallery and stayed for the afternoon.

What to wear

There is no dress code. It is a converted exhibition ground in Delhi in early February, which means bright days and genuinely cold evenings, and a great deal of walking on hard floors. Layers and shoes you can stand in for four hours will serve you better than anything else. The preview evenings are dressier than the public days by some distance.

A note on a search that leads nowhere

A number of people search for an India Art Fair edition in Hyderabad. As far as the organiser's own site shows, there is no Hyderabad edition — India Art Fair is a Delhi fair. The Hyderabad references on their site are to a Hyderabad-based artist and to a separate gallery project, not to a fair of their own in the city.
